On December 1, 2006 members of Mercy For Animals held a silent protest against animal abuse in the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus outside Nationwide Arena in Columbus. Activists distributed information detailing animal cruelty under the big top and aired graphic undercover footage depicting the violent training endured by animals enslaved in the circus.
