Cleveland, Ohio’s Fox 8 News I-Team recently aired an exclusive expose featuring MFA’s three undercover investigations at Ohio’s largest egg factory farms. The piece, with a running time of about 8 minutes, aired three times during primetime spots. Viewers saw standard industry abuses, such as:

• Feces covered hens packed into cages so tightly that they could not spread a single wing
• Hens suffering from untreated eye and sinus infections
• Dead corpses left to rot in cages with birds still producing eggs for human consumption
• Hens trapped in the wire of their cages with no access to food or water.

The segment was hyped in preceding days, with TV and radio ads repeatedly stating that viewers may want to think twice the next time they consider eating eggs.
