Corporate Outreach Internship
The Los Angeles-based corporate outreach intern will work closely with MFA’s director
of corporate outreach to improve the animal welfare policies of large corporations
throughout the US and to increase the vegan options offered by major retailers and
restaurants.
The corporate outreach intern will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Researching top retailers, restaurants, and manufacturers in the United States
- Researching menu and grocery items that could become vegan with minor
ingredient changes (e.g., researching companies that could use vegan egg
substitutes in their veggie burgers, or manufacturers that include lard in their
beans, or restaurants that offer beans with pork)
- Drafting emails and blogs about the latest animal welfare commitments made by
corporations
- Managing Google alerts for news on various animal welfare topics and assigned
corporations
- Handling other tasks and projects as they are assigned by supervisor
Requirements
- Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite—Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required
- Strong interest in improving the food supply chain in the United States by using
positive, proactive, and creative solutions
- Sense of humor
- Strong work ethic
- Dedication to the mission and objectives of the organization
- Commitment to a three-month internship preferred
Interning at MFA is interesting, with varied work day to day. You will be given a level
of responsibility that requires reliability, dedication, and hard work. We are happy to
involve our interns in important projects and will consider you part of our staff.
As an
intern, you will be an integral part of Mercy For Animals and your work will be very
much appreciated. In addition, you will learn important skills, meet like-minded people,
and be a part of the national animal protection movement, all while spreading compassion
for animals! Full-time interns receive a weekly stipend and depending on the internship
location, either a free public transportation pass or reimbursement for gas.
