This past weekend, iHeart Radio kicked off summer with the iHeart Summer ’17 Weekend. Joining performers like Halsey; DJ Khaled; the Backstreet Boys; Fifth Harmony; and even her sister, Noah Cyrus, Miley Cyrus rocked the stage performing her new single, “Malibu,” on Saturday night.
Before her performance, the pop sensation hosted an all-vegan barbecue, serving up tasty vegan sausages, sliders, and corn. Cyrus even grilled the sausages herself.

Cyrus went vegan in 2014 out of love for her companion animals, including a pig and a blowfish. One night she went out to dinner where blowfish was on the menu, and it clicked for her. In an interview with Jimmy Fallon, Cyrus said, “I realized these were intelligent animals.”
She’s got that right. Pigs are considered the fifth-most intelligent animal in the world, even more intelligent than dogs. According to biologist Culum Brown, fish "learn from each other, recognize other fish they've spent time with previously, know their place within fish social hierarchies, and remember complex spatial maps of their surroundings."
What is most evident, however, is that pigs and fish, like all animals, feel pain and suffer.

By leaving animal products off her plate, Miley has ended her support of a cruel industry that profits off the pain of millions of animals each year. The only thing she’s killing these days is the vegan game.
