Pinterest Reports a 52 Percent Jump in Vegan Recipe Pins

According to Adweek, the number of vegan and dairy-free recipes saved by Pinterest users has risen by 52 and 88 percent, respectively!

In response to users’ increased interest in specialty recipes, Pinterest launched a new discovery tool called Lens this February. A new Lens update now allows users to search by ingredients and full dishes and suggests related pins. Users can even search to find recipe suggestions based on ingredients already in their homes.

Pinterest isn’t the only digital company to see veganism taking over. NBC reported that Google searches for “vegan” increased by 33 percent in 2016. This is slightly higher than the increase from 2014 to 2015.

This surge in veganism is great news for the billions of farmed animals who suffer immensely on factory farms.

Cows, pigs, and chickens raised and killed for food are just as smart and sensitive as the dogs and cats we adore at home. But at factory farms they’re subjected to extreme confinement; brutal mutilations; and of course, violent deaths.

These animals are living beings, but they’re treated like mere objects. Don’t believe us? Watch.

Thankfully, by going vegan you can spare the lives of about 30 farmed animals each year. Join the millions who are taking a stand for animals, the environment, and their own health by transitioning to a plant-based diet.
